Lucasfilm threw fans a curveball when Forest Whitaker was announced as

Saw Gerrera in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. A figure from the Clone Wars

animated series, Saw’s presence soldified the link between the small

and big screens — and according to Star Wars Rebels producer Simon Kinberg,

that character could just be the beginning of the crossover.
