To answer your question about "Arena."
Kirk does mean the opposite:
that the predator part of the human race
is going away, and going to fade out
in a thousand years.

Kirk says "as predators go," sarcastically.
He's being mildly "ironic" here
by acknowledging that others might think of humans as "predators,"
but that he doesn't.
Another example of Kirk being ironic or sarcastic
about the nature of humanity to prove a point
comes in the episode "A Taste of Armageddon."

Does that make sense?

他說寇克在這邊是輕微的自嘲與反諷
所以我覺得那一段對話的翻譯應該是

K:史巴克,以掠奪者來說,我們的種族做得還不錯,你知道嗎?
S:我對這點常有質疑。
K:我不會。再也不會了。


只是反諷語氣在中文裡好像比較不容易識別
說給聽不太懂反諷的史巴克聽 也是滿白目的感覺
