在今年9月時導演Francis Ford Coppola宣布將會重新剪輯製作
除了橋段、鏡頭重新剪輯編排外，開頭和結尾也全新創作
(舊版片長為162分鐘，薪版片長為158分鐘)

（Mario Puzo's The Godfather, Coda：The Death of Michael Corleone）
也在12/4於美國部分戲院上映
演員Diane Keaton和Andy Garcia也對新版是讚譽有加
並特別說到Sofia Coppola在新版的表現會讓觀眾改觀
