俳優の夏八木勲さん死去 - 日劇

舞台や映画、テレビドラマなどに数多く出演し、豪快で男らしい演技で知られた俳優の
夏八木勲さんが１１日、亡くなりました。
７３歳でした。

夏八木さんは東京・足立区の出身で、大学を中退後、昭和３８年に劇団俳優座の養成所に
入り、同期の原田芳雄さんや村井国夫さんらとともに「花の１５期生」と呼ばれました。

卒業後、昭和４１年に映画「骨までしゃぶる」でデビューし、その後も「白昼の死角」や
「野性の証明」など数多くの映画で活躍しました。

中でも、昭和５４年に公開され、自衛隊が戦国時代の日本にタイムスリップする映画「戦
国自衛隊」では、戦国武将の長尾景虎役を演じ、男らしい豪快な演技で人気を集めました

テレビドラマでも活躍し、昭和４９年に出演したＮＨＫの連続テレビ小説「鳩子の海」で
演じた脱走兵の役が話題となるなど高い演技力で知られました。

最近では、平成２２年に放送されたＮＨＫの大河ドラマ「龍馬伝」に出演したほか、映画
では去年公開された園子温監督の「希望の国」で、原発事故で家族を引き裂かれる主人公
の酪農家の男性を熱演して高い評価を受けていました。

夏八木さんはこうした功績が認められ、ことし３月、芸術の分野で優れた業績をあげた人
に贈られる文化庁の「芸術選奨文部科学大臣賞」に選ばれました。

関係者によりますと、夏八木さんは去年、すい臓がんが見つかり、仕事をしながら治療を
受けていましたが１１日、亡くなったということです。
