Report:
Hillary Clinton Mad About Fictional Assassination Attempt on 'NCIS'

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is not a happy lady these days. First she
was snubbed by the young leaders of the Egyptian Revolution. Then she met
with some Libyan rebels and was obliged to promise them exactly nothing.
Now Hillary Clinton is reported to by angry with the producers of the hit TV
show "NCIS" over a brief scene that depicted an attempted suicide bombing
assassination attempt on her life. The idea is that the TV show might give
some unstable person unhealthy ideas.
Clinton should rest easy. First, the TV show showed her surviving the
attempt, by all accounts. Clinton, in any case, has been fairly unpopular
since the early days of the Clinton administration when, as first lady, she
schemed to foist a version of health care reform that is now law and is
roiling the political landscape. Neither al-Qaida nor some lone nut needs a
TV show to inspire them to try a hit on the Secretary of State if they wanted
to do such a thing. Clinton is, no doubt, on the short lists of a lot of
crazies of people who would be better disappearing in a flash of fire and
smoke.
Second, Clinton has assassination target is not new. A 1990s remake of "Day
of the Jackal," entitled "The Jackal," had an unnamed first lady who strongly
resembled Clinton the target of an assassination to be carried out by a creep
fellow played by Bruce Willis on the behest of the Russian mob. She survived
that one as well.
Real life people being set up for assassination on TV, in the movies, and in
books is nothing new either. Several years ago a movie came out depicting the
successful assassination of the President George W. Bush was released to
acclaim and condemnation. Real people have been the targets of desperate
button men ever since the original novel and movie "Day of the Jackal"
depicted a plot to take out Charles de Gaulle.
Clinton should hold herself lucky that she is only targeted for a fictional
assassination on the big and small screen. Sarah Palin, who might achieve
Clinton's dream of being the first woman president, is being targeted for
character assassination on TV repeatedly. Unlike with Clinton, surviving that
is not so simple as a heroic "NCIS" agent tackling or shooting an al-Qaida
jihadi.
