克林伊斯威特直言這是個娘炮世代 - 電影

奧斯卡金獎導演克林伊斯威特(Clint Eastwood)近日與兒子史考特(伊斯威特Scott
Eastwood)共同接受了君子雜誌(Esquire)的專訪，暢談他對許多人事物的看法。幾個關於
美國當前政治及社會的敏感問題，他更是直言不諱，尤其以下幾個問答內容恐有一定爭論
(原文問答在上，中文節錄編譯在下)。

Q: Your characters have become touchstones in the culture, whether it's
Reagan invoking "Make my day" or now Trump … I swear he's even practiced
your scowl.

A: Maybe. But he's onto something, because secretly everybody's getting tired
of political correctness, kissing up. That's the kiss-ass generation we're in
right now. We're really in a pussy generation. Everybody's walking on
eggshells. We see people accusing people of being racist and all kinds of
stuff. When I grew up, those things weren't called racist. And then when I
did Gran Torino, even my associate said, "This is a really good script, but
it's politically incorrect." And I said, "Good. Let me read it tonight." The
next morning, I came in and I threw it on his desk and I said, "We're
starting this immediately."

問：你演出的一些角色已成為我們文化中的象徵標竿，我敢說唐納川普他甚至學過你生氣
的樣子。

答：或許吧，但他還是有些不錯的想法，因為私底下大家都已經厭倦政治正確的表態，我
們現在就處於一個逢迎作態的世代(kiss-ass generation)，這真的是個娘炮世代(pussy
generation)，每個人講話都小心翼翼。動輒看到有人被指控種族歧視之類的，在我成長
的年代，那些言行都不會被認為是種族歧視的表現。我籌拍經典老爺車時(Gran Torino)，

我的同事說：「這劇本真好，但卻政治不正確。」

然後我說：「好，讓我今晚來看看。」

隔天早上，我進辦公室把劇本丟在他桌上說：「我們現在立刻就開始進行這案子。」



Q: What is the "pussy generation"?

A: All these people that say, "Oh, you can't do that, and you can't do this,
and you can't say that." I guess it's just the times.

問：娘炮世代(pussy generation)是什麼意思？

答：當所有人動不動就講這個那個不能做，這個那個不能說時，我猜就是娘炮世代了。



Q: What do you think Trump is onto?

A: What Trump is onto is he's just saying what's on his mind. And sometimes
it's not so good. And sometimes it's … I mean, I can understand where he's
coming from, but I don't always agree with it.

問：你怎麼看唐納川普(Donald Trump)？

答：川普就是想到什麼就說什麼，有時候他說的好，有時候就…雖然可以理解為何他這麼
說，但我也並不總是同意他。



Q: But if the choice is between her and Trump, what do you do?

A: That's a tough one, isn't it? I'd have to go for Trump … you know, 'cause
she's declared that she's gonna follow in Obama's footsteps. There's been
just too much funny business on both sides of the aisle. She's made a lot of
dough out of being a politician. I gave up dough to be a politician. I'm sure
that Ronald Reagan gave up dough to be a politician.

問：希拉蕊柯林頓(Hillary Clinton)與唐納川普會選誰？

答：這真難選不是嗎，我應會選川普，因為希拉蕊已經表明他會追隨現任美國總統歐巴馬
(Barack Obama)的路線。(下略)



Q: Politically, you're the Anti-Pussy party?

A: Yeah, I'm anti–the pussy generation. Not to be confused with pussy.

問：政治上，你算是反娘炮陣營(Anti-Pussy party)的一員？

答：對，我是反娘炮世代的人，但沒有反對女性不要搞混了(感謝版友Chocho55)。
