在二次世界大戰失去雙親的小夏(廣瀨鈴飾)，被父親的戰友柴田剛男(藤木直人飾)收養，
移居到擁有豐饒自然、遼闊美景的北海道十勝。在經營牧場的柴田家，小夏努力地幫忙酪
農工作，更在溫柔的養母富士子(松嶋菜菜子飾)視如己出般地養育下，逐漸找回天真爛漫
的心，恢復開朗。
某天，小夏認識了擅於繪畫的少年天陽(吉澤亮飾)，偶然得知「漫畫電影(如現今的動畫)
」的存在，並深受這個「讓畫動起來」的世界吸引。高中畢業後，為了以畫為生的夢想，
小夏決定前往東京，以「動畫師」為目標，投身進入尚處草創時期的日本動畫界...
