Prepare to say farewell to the Upper East Side's Queen B.
Leighton Meester says she plans to leave Gossip Girl when her contract
is up. "Two more years," Meester told E! Online while promoting her new
film Country Strong.
Meester noted that she enjoys working on the show and living in New York,
but wants to free herself up to pursue other projects. The 24-year-old said
the producers of the CW series have been very willing to let the Gossip kids
take time off to film movies. "It allows you to be ready for when the
show's over," she said.
