「捕物帖」源自日本江戶時代的「捕物帳」，是日本獨有的偵探小說形式。當時日本尚未
與西方科學文明接觸，捕頭只能憑直覺和單純的推理找出真兇。坂口安吾以西風東漸
的明治維新為背景，更添加了「捕物帖」的多元風格和時代色彩。
十九世紀末，正值日本明治維新，人心不安、時局動盪，紳士偵探結城新十郎崛起於
東京神樂坂，與維新英雄勝海舟等人，展開一連串曲折奇妙的推理冒險。
