Actor and comedian Charlie Murphy has reportedly passed away at the age of 57,
according to his manager. Murphy was the older brother of comedic legend Eddi
e Murphy, and was a successful stand-up comedian on his own, most notably perf
orming iconic sketches in happelle’s Show and helping write his brother’s f
ilm Norbit. The older Murphy also starred in popular animated comedythe Boond
ocksand toured with notable acts like Eddie Griffin and Cedric the Entertainer
. According to the late comic’s manager, Murphy was battling leukemia and had
been undergoing chemotherapy treatment.
