有一段時間沒有寫2010 Preview的電影介紹了
在史上最強動作明星首次大合作的"浴血任務"之後
今年的暑假檔似乎也要進入尾聲了
一方面是各地都快要開學
二來之後這段期間也沒有其他引人矚目的大片了

不過在暑假結束之後，其實今年還是有不少強片等著進入戲院與觀眾見面
以下就是各位就算不一定會去看
但也一定會是在朋友與工作伙伴之間造成話題的電影

今天我將介紹的是兩部續集，哈利波特7與門當父不對3
以及雖然不是續集電影，但有超級巨星小勞柏道尼的"臨門湊一腳"

Analysis: In six movies released since 2001, the Harry Potter series has been
a dominant force at the box office, grossing $1.7 billion (and an additional,
whopping $3.7 billion overseas).

Warner Bros., in an effort to include as much of the story as possible and,
no doubt, to wring out more money from the series, decided to split the final
Harry Potter book in to two movies, setting Harry Potter and the Deathly
Hallows (Part One) for release this November, followed by Part Two in July
2011.

哈利波特從2001年上映以來，就一直是電影市場上一鼓強大的力量，
這六集光在北美就有超過10億的票房，海外其他地區更是高達37億。

發行本片的華納兄弟影業，為了讓故事更加完整—當然，
也是為了從中賺取更多收益—決定將哈利波特小說的最終回
分開成兩部電影，第一回在今年11月就會上映，但下回則要等到明年七月

With the release of Deathly Hallows: Part One marking the beginning of the
end for the series, anticipation will likely reach fever pitch by the fall.
This will be the first Harry Potter to open the weekend before Thanksgiving
since Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in 2005.

The franchise made history on the same weekend in 2001, when the first movie,
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, delivered a then record $90.3 million
opening weekend gross.

隨著標記著系列旅程最終回死神的聖物：上篇的即將發行，
觀眾的期待指數也會在秋天一路飆到最高點。

HP：DH(Part 1)也會是五年前「火杯的考驗」之後，
HP系列首次在感恩節的前一週上映。該系列的第一集「神祕的魔法石」
在2001年上映時，曾經以9030萬美金締造當時的首映記錄
（不過半年後就被蜘蛛人給打破了）

There's a chance that some potential audience members feel cheated that the
studio has split Deathly Hallows in to two parts, skip out on Part One in
theaters, catch it on DVD and then show up for the action-packed, climactic
Part Two. Based on the strong brand recognition and high levels of
anticipation, though, it's unlikely this happens in any noticeable way.

The last movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince saw little audience
attrition, despite its delay. Instead, look for Deathly Hallows: Part One to
be as successful as the recent entries in the series, putting it in line to
be one of the top-grossing pictures of 2010.

儘管有些人認為本系列的部份影迷會因為片商將死神的聖物一分為二，
產生被欺騙的感覺，因而會先跳過上集的戲院上映時機只看DVD，
等到更充滿動作場面與高潮張力的下集再回到戲院。
然而，由於該系列強勁的品牌辨識度，加上影迷的高度期待指數，
目前還沒有跡象顯示這種情況會發生。

加上上集「混血王子的背叛」即使因為延檔.也沒有對觀眾產生太多的摩擦，
死神的聖物依然有望跟HP系列的前幾集一樣成功，
並成為今年最賺錢電影的前幾名

Analysis: In the fall of 2000, Meet the Parents became a surprise smash,
grossing over $160 million. Four years later, the sequel, Meet the Fockers,
managed to significantly outgross the original, bringing in nearly $280
million, good for second highest-grossing comedy of all-time behind Home
Alone. A second sequel was inevitable, and, after six years, audiences are
finally getting one when Little Fockers is released Dec. 22.

分析：
在2000年的秋天，門當父不對因為票房超過1.6億美金，而成為當年的
意外驚喜。四年後，他的續集「親家路窄」更是超越前作許多，
帶來將近三億的票房，並成為美國影史上第二賣座的喜劇，僅次於小鬼當家。

而不可避免的第三集，在經過六年之後，觀眾終於將在今年聖誕節看到
他們期盼已久的小發克

The first two movies focused on the relatable and awkward situations inherent
in meeting prospective in-laws. While little is known about the plot of the
new picture, it appears to be geared more towards the relationship between
children, parents and grandparents, as the Focker children will play a
significant role.

Straying from the successful formula of the first two may be a breath of
fresh air for audiences who found Meet the Fockers to be a disappointment,
while others may be put off by this approach (Box Office Mojo users gave a
"B" grade to both Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers).

MTP系列的前兩集，將主題分別聚焦在拜見之前從未謀面過的
岳父母與公婆時，所遭遇的一連串尷尬狀況。儘管這部新續集的詳細情節
尚未出爐，但顯然將更朝向描寫小孩、父母與祖父母之間的關係，
因為發克家的小孩將會扮演更重要的角色。

拋棄前兩集成功因子的第三集，固然會讓對親家路窄感到失望的人
產生一種新的氣息；然而，卻也有可能反而對其他人產生排擠效應
（前兩集在BOM網站的評價都是B）

Often, a lengthy break between the second and third movie in a series results
in significantly lower sales (The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, Rush
Hour 3, Mission: Impossible III, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Home
Alone 3, Beverly Hills Cop III, etc.).

另外，一部系列電影的第三集如果與前集的時間距離相差太久，
往往會導致第三集在票房上的數字明顯偏低，這些案例包括神鬼傳奇3、
尖峰時刻3、不可能的任務3、魔鬼終結者3、小鬼當家3與比佛利山超級警探3..等

Working in Little Fockers' favor is the rising box office pull of Ben
Stiller. Since Meet the Fockers, he has mostly starred in hits, headlining
two Night at the Museum movies, providing voice work in two Madagascar movies
and directing and starring in the R-rated hit Tropic Thunder (The Heartbreak
Kid was his only miss among lead roles). Stiller's strong comedy brand,
combined with further support from Robert DeNiro, Dustin Hoffman and Barbra
Streisand and the franchise's strong recognition should result in a sizable
audience. Whether it can match or surpass the popularity of its predecessors
remains to be seen.

不過門當父不對3倒是有一個利多，那就是票房地位越來越穩固的班史提勒。
從門2以來，他主演的電影大多都是賣座片，包括兩部博物館驚魂夜，
只提供聲音的馬達加斯加系列，甚至於他兼任導演的R級喜劇開賣拉驚魂
也獲得成功，唯一失手的經驗只有七日之癢。

BS哥強勁的喜劇品牌，加上硬底子影星勞勃狄尼洛、芭芭拉史翠珊等
其他大牌的陪伴（達斯丁霍夫曼退出，但潔西卡愛巴會加入），
以及該系列本身的高辨認程度，門3應該還是可以吸引為數可觀的
觀影人潮。然而，他能否跟前作維持相同的水平甚至超越，仍有待時間見證

his child's birth on time.

Analysis: Before last year, most of Todd Phillips' career had been spent
directing successful juvenile comedies like Road Trip ($68.5 million), Old
School ($75.6 million) and Starsky & Hutch ($88.2 million). Then Phillips
directed The Hangover, a movie that used a sharp script and strong cast to
push the boundaries of a classic "What happened last night?" scenario. It
opened to a strong $45 million last June and then kept filling seats all
summer. When The Hangover's box office run finally came to an end in
December, it had amassed $277.3 million, easily breaking the previous gross
record for an R-rated comedy.

在去年以前，陶德菲力普導演出來的作品，大多是成功的YA導向電影，

Before making The Hangover 2 (which, of course, is in the works), Phillips
has reunited with Hangover actor Zach Galifianakis for the road trip comedy
Due Date. Co-starring with Galifianakis is Robert Downey, Jr., an actor whose
appeal has rapidly expanded in recent years thanks to the success of Iron
Man, Tropic Thunder and Sherlock Holmes. Warner Brothers (the studio behind
both The Hangover and Sherlock Holmes) will undoubtedly focus their Due Date
marketing campaign on the combination of Downey Jr., Galifiankis and
Phillips.

在「醉後大丈夫」續集進入製作以前，菲力普已經先跟其中一位主角
查克葛理芬納奇（矮胖又留紅鬍子的那一位）在「臨門湊一腳」中重聚，
而他的應對搭檔則變成了小勞柏道尼。道尼哥靠著鋼鐵人、開麥拉驚魂
與福爾摩斯接連的好成績，已經將他的吸引力成功地拓展開來。
華納兄弟公司（也是福爾摩斯與最後大丈夫的製作單位），
毫無疑問會將宣傳重點聚焦在道尼、葛理芬納奇與菲力普的結合

Besides its comedic pedigree, Due Date also is conveniently scheduled in
November, a month completely free of any other high profile comedies. This
should put the movie in a position to have strong earnings through
Thanksgiving and even in to the Christmas season. While it would be foolish
to expect numbers in The Hangover's league, Due Date has a great shot at
being a solid success.

臨門湊一腳除了他優良的喜劇血統外，他安排檔期的11月，
也是一個完全沒有其他高矚目的喜劇片的月份。這個利多因素，
應該可以讓本片處在一個從感恩節到聖誕節都能賺錢的位置。
儘管期望它能達到最後大丈夫的成績是有點天真，
但她毫無疑問會獲得穩健的成功

前兩者因為續集的緣故，應該不用擔心他們的成績
倒是Due Date雖然有一名超級巨星
而且這組合看起來也頗有新鮮感，但R級造成的衝擊
卻反而有可能是不得不去注意的變數

順道一提，Due Date其實有一位
人氣指數（至少在台灣）比葛理芬納奇還要高的影帝級黑人明星
不過我之前在網路上看預告片卻沒看到他的名字出現
看來這位仁兄應該不會有太多的戲份
不過我不知道台灣片商上映時會不會打進他的名字就是了
