編劇與導演：彼得傑克森依舊是這集的導演，而他長期的合作夥伴Fran Walsh(導演的老
婆)與Philippa Boyens也繼續擔任編劇。比較特別的是「環太平洋」導演Guillermo del
Toro也是哈比人的編劇之一，他原先也是片商考慮哈比人新任導演的人選，但在因不少
因素退出導演職位後，仍然有與傑克森維持合作關係。

曼為了拉抬電影的聲勢，將會在電影上映前一週出現在老牌綜藝「週六夜現場」擔任客座
主持。

against an armed flock of combatants and the terrifying Smaug from acquiring
a kingdom of treasure and incinerating all of Middle-Earth.

劇情簡介：比爾博與他的夥伴不僅被迫參與一場與一群武裝戰士的戰役，還得避免惡龍「
史矛革」竊取帝國與其寶物，甚至以牠的火力徹底破壞中土世界的可能。

Analysis: Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy concludes this December with The
Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Advertisements promise that this will
be "the defining chapter" of the franchise, and fans of the Middle Earth saga
are surely excited to see the titular battle portrayed on the big screen.
Outside of hardcore fans, though, it doesn't seem like there's much
excitement surrounding this finale.

賣座情勢分析：彼得傑克森的「哈比人」三部曲，終於要在今年十二月以「五軍之戰」畫
下休止符。現階段的廣告不僅指出他是系列電影中「最關鍵的章節」，中土世界的影/書
迷，應該也會為這場經典戰役終於搬進大銀幕感到興奮。然而，對J. R. R. Tolkien(哈
比人原作者)作品興趣不是那麼高的其他鄉民，對於這部完結篇的興趣似乎就不是那麼高
了。

The franchise is currently on a downward trajectory: The Hobbit: An Unexpected
Journey earned 20 percent less than The Return of the King, while The Hobbit:
The Desolation of Smaug was off 15 percent from An Unexpected Journey.

不可諱言地，哈比人的賣座線是逐漸呈現衰退的：「意外旅程」雖然在北美仍有賣破三億
美金，但跟「王者再臨」相比就已經有20%的缺口。第二集「荒谷惡龍」更是比第一集下
滑了15%。

The bleeding should slow down with The Battle of the Five Armies: Smaug was
widely considered an improvement over its predecessor, and franchise finales
tend to do pretty well.

不過，這樣的失血狀況應該可以在「五軍之戰」獲得控制。不僅是因為「荒谷惡龍」的口
碑比起第一集來得更優秀，也是因為系列電影的完結篇通常都會在票房上不錯的表現。

Unlike the last two years, though, The Hobbit isn't the only major movie
coming out this December. Noting the lukewarm reception of the first
installment, other studios programmed some very competitive titles: Exodus:
Gods and Kings, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb and Into the Woods
should all chip away at this movie's audience.

然而哈比人在今年的處境跟這兩年相比又變得不一樣了，因為它已經不是今年年底唯一的
高成本潛在賣座大片。其他片商在看到「意外旅程」的口碑不如魔戒那樣熱烈後，便蓄勢
待發地安排了其他也有不小競爭力的強檔，如迪士尼的「魔法黑森林」與福斯一口氣先後
推出的「出埃及記」與「博物館驚魂夜3」－這三部高成本且明星陣容堅強的大片，都有
可能瓜分掉原本該屬於「哈比人」的觀眾群。

As a result, a modest decline seems to be in order (somewhere in the five to
ten percent range). Ultimately, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
seems poised to be the lowest-grossing, least-attended entry in the six-movie
Middle Earth saga.

由於以上的利空因素，「五軍之戰」不僅將面臨跟上集相比一定程度的衰退(可能介於百
分之5到10之間)，恐怕也將成為彼得傑克森改編托爾金中土世界史詩6部作品中，美國本
土票房收入最低、買票人數最少的一部。

Forecast: $235 million

心得：Box Office對於今年年終檔系列電影在美國當地票房的預測，
本來就跟上一集相比相對保留，而且不少已經上映的電影，
現階段的成績都比Ray Subers的預測還來得低。

．星際效應：原本估2.6億，目前累積到1.5億，要破兩億的機率不高
．飢餓遊戲3：原本估3.8億，目前的走勢即使破三億也不容易追上「星際異攻隊」
．暴走企鵝：原本估1.35億，現在即使破億也不會超過此範圍太多
．老闆不是人2：原本估有機會破億，現在幾乎確定是不可能任務

如今以這些電影的成績看來，預測五軍之戰跌破2.5億反而變成一種合理預測？
