這首歌是 2004 年舊金山政府將同志婚姻合法化並開放註冊登記之後，

Vienna 在巡迴路上收到許多朋友要結婚的喜訊，

但只傳一句 "Congratulations!" 無法表達她滿滿的祝福，

於是把這樣的想法譜成這首 country music (可惜她不太會 rap XD)，

以第一人稱敘述同性伴侶終於等到婚姻平權，

快樂開車要去 City Hall 登記結婚的喜悅:)

8/21 在西門河岸，也有觀眾點這首歌，

如果沒聽錯的話，應該是一對年輕的 lesbian couple 在最後面喊了出來 XD


當天 Vienna 在介紹這首歌時，比起在 Sydney，她很隱諱地說明寫這首歌的原因：

是來祝福朋友，兩個人 relationship 進入另外一個階段的喜悅，無關乎性別。

當下其實有點很好奇為什麼不直白地說 gay marriage？


前陣子十月舉辦同志大遊行，才被 New York Times 盛讚：

【補充一些 VT 的資料】


1. Vienna Teng 的本名是 史逸欣，

之所以藝名是 Vienna，是因為他很喜歡音樂之都 Vienna，

而 Teng 是取自 鄧麗君 的「鄧」。

她媽媽小時候會唱很多鄧麗君的歌給她聽，

其中一首《綠島小夜曲》也是她常 cover 的歌之一。

而《綠島小夜曲》偷偷收錄在 第二章專輯 Warm Strangers (2004) 裡面，

VT 通常都是無伴奏表演這首歌。

2. 她出了幾張專輯呢？ 已經五張了!

最新專輯是 Vienna 轉領域念完 Sustainable Enterprise 的碩士，

去年畢業後發行的。

歌曲不再是她一個人自彈自唱，嘗試了與其他音樂人合作更多元的編曲，

(Alex Wong 和 Jordan Brooke Hamlin 的參與讓音樂有了更多層次)

關心的議題也更宏觀，從環境議題到網路上的隱私談討。


3. 她是一個 LGBT-非常friendly 的歌手!

去年三月美國 Supreme Court 開始辯論 same-sex marriage 的合法性時，

網路上曾出現大量換成 紅底/粉紅色等於 的大頭貼表達支持。

◎推薦理由或同志心情故事

這是我第二首認識的 Vienna Teng music，當下聽到就哭得超慘。

(大多數人好像對 The Tower 或是 Gravity 這兩首愛情曲比較有共鳴:P)


Antebellum 在英文中指的是美國的南北戰爭。

VT 以戰爭形容她當初放棄工程師工作，轉職專心做音樂時與家裡的爭執。

家中任何人說了一句話，都可能以肉色匕首刺傷對方。

但其實心底都是為了對方好。


這幾年在拉版看了好多出櫃故事，有的溫馨有的充滿洋蔥，也有的讓人心疼，

許多長輩因為不理解而反對同性戀的存在，

有些不只言語羞辱，甚至將兒女逐出家門。

但其實他們最深的擔心，莫不過外界對小孩不友善的眼光帶來的歧視，

尤其社會加諸於他們身上的壓力也不小 哀ˊ~ˋ


(喔 不過當時讓我痛哭的點是因為沒有如期進入爹娘期待的科系吧 >"<

現在也讀的好好的呀~ 後年就可以開始賺$$了!)
